This month, the 30 Madden Display Suite played host to an America’s Cup Information Evening.
A hugely informative evening, it was exciting to hear how Wynyard Quarter and North Wharf will transform in time for the America’s Cup in just over a year’s time.
The space was filled with those interested in hearing Grant Calder, Managing Director of America's Cup Events Limited and Martin Shelton, Programme Director AC36, Auckland Council speak about the upcoming 2021 America’s Cup.
Enthralled by their respective presentations, it was a fantastic opportunity for both residents and visitors to see what The Cup means for Wynyard Quarter and the wider Auckland region.
Grant Calder spoke about the teams and their unique boats, as well as the race course and the developments, entertainment and pop-ups we can expect to see across Auckland’s waterfront. Wynyard Quarter will be home to the competing teams, with events and activations happening in the surrounding area.
Martin Shelton spoke to the history of the race, and the infrastructure currently under development in and around the viaduct. With extensive work underway in order to host and house the event, Wynyard Quarter is quickly evolving into the ultimate event destination.
Construction of Stage One, 30 Madden will be complete in time for the America’s Cup. With only three apartments and two townhouses still available, you could be watching the race from the comfort of your own balcony.
